Ordinary vehicle
Vehicles to be able to drive

※Motorized bicycles (50cc) can also be driven
Type of ordinary vehicle
● AT (automatic transmission)
With simple operation, AT vehicles are easier to drive than MT vehicles. Currently, about 90% of ordinary vehicles sold in Japan are AT vehicles. AT license can be obtained in a shorter time and at a lower cost than MT license, but it does not allow you to drive an MT vehicle.
● MT (manual transmission)
By manually controlling the clutch and gear changes, you can enjoy the feeling of operating the vehicle by yourself more. MT license is recommended for those who want to enjoy driving and want to drive sports cars, classic cars, light trucks, etc. If you have a MT license, you can drive both MT and AT vehicles.

Flow of training
Matriculation
Stage 1
"Skills and Departments"
You will be required to take 10 periods of "Department Training", a minimum of 12 periods for AT vehicles, and a minimum of 15 periods of "Skill Training (in the driving school)" for MT vehicles.
Provisional license Examination
You will be required to take the "Aptitude Test" and the "Provisional license Examination". If you pass the test and examination, you will be issued a provisional license.
Stage 2
"Skills and Departments"
You will be required to take 16 periods of "Department Training", and on the street you will take "Skill Training" with a minimum of 19 periods for AT vehicles and a minimum of 19 periods for MT vehicles.
Graduation Examination
You will be required to take the graduation exam for the second stage, "Skills". If you pass the exam, you will receive a "graduation certificate".
Go to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre
Take the department exam at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre. If you pass the exam, you will be issued a license.

Motorcycles
Types of motorcycles
● AT (automatic transmission)
Refers to scooters and other motorcycles that are operated without using a clutch. Since is no need to change gears, they are easier and less burdensome to ride. However, a driver with an AT license is not allowed to drive a MT motorcycle.
●AT Limited Ordinary Motorcycle License 《Displacement 400 cc or less/16 years of age or older》
●AT Limited Small Motorcycle License [AT Limited Ordinary Motorcycle License, Limited in small size] 《Displacement 125 cc or less/16 years of age or older》
● MT (manual transmission)
It refers to a two-wheeled vehicle that requires clutch operation and gear change, and is ridden by straddling the body with the feet. If you have an MT license, you can drive both MT motorcycles and AT motorcycles.
●MT Heavy Motorcycle License 《No limitation of displacement/18 years of age or older》
●MT Ordinary motorcycle license 《Displacement 400cc or less/16 years of age or older》
●MT small motorcycle license [MT Ordinary motorcycle license with small size limitation] 《Displacement 125cc or less/16 years of age or older》

Matriculation
Stage 1
"Skills and Departments"
You will be required to take 10 periods of "Department Training" (for those who do not have a regular driver's license) and "Skill Training (in the driving school)".
Stage 2
"Skills and Departments"
In the first stage of skill training, if the instructor determines that the student is "evaluation is good", you will be required to take 16 periods of "Department Training" and "Skill Training".
Graduation Examination
You will take a graduation test for practical skills at a driving school. If you pass the exam, you will receive a "graduation certificate".
Go to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre
Take the department exam (not required if you have a ordinary vehicle license) and aptitude test at the license center. If you pass the exam, you will be issued a license.
Obtaining a license
※If you have a ordinary, semi-medium, medium, or heavy vehicle license, the training time will be shorter than if you do not have these license (except for a heavy motorcycle license). Please contact us for more information.
Semi-Medium vehicle
Vehicle to be able to drive
●Gross vehicle weight: 3.5 tons or more but less than 7.5 tons
●Maximum loading capacity: 2 tons or more but less than 4.5 tons
●Capacity: 10 or less persons
※Those who obtained "Ordinary vehicle license" between June 2, 2007 and March 11, 2017 will be issued "Semi-medium 5 ton limited vehicle license".
※There are 4 periods of training for the "semi-medium 5 ton limited vehicle license" to remove the limitation.

Visual acuity for depth must be examined three times from a distance of 2.5 m using a three-rod depth perception inspection tester, and the average error must be 2 cm or less. (Correction is also possible with glasses, etc.) -

Medium vehicle

●Gross vehicle weight: 5 tons or more and less than 11 tons
●Maximum loading capacity: 3 tons or more and less than 6.5 tons ●Capacity: 11 to 30 people
※Depending on the time of acquisition of the "ordinary license", the range of cars that can be driven and the method of obtaining the license are different.
※There are 5 periods of training for the "medium vehicle 8t limited license" to remove the limitation.

Trailer license
Points of Towing License
●Able to tow a heavy, medium or heavy special vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of over 750kg.
●Able to drive special vehicles of 12m or less in total length, x 2.5m or less in total width, x 3.8m or less in total height, and to drive small special vehicles and motorized bicycles on public roads.
※Holders must be 18 years of age or older to hold a driver's license of one of the following types of driver's licenses: Class 2, heavy, medium, semi-medium, ordinary, or heavy special license.
Heavy special vehicle
Points of Heavy Special Vehicle License
●This license allows the driver to drive special vehicles of 12m or less in total length, x 2.5m or less in total width, x 3.8m or less in total height as well as to drive small special vehicles and motorized bicycles on public roads.
※The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
Class 2 ordinary vehicle
Points for a Class 2 ordinary vehicle
●Passenger transportation (carrying passengers and collecting fares and driving) is possible with ordinary vehicle.
※Those who are 21 years of age or older, and who have obtained a heavy or medium or ordinary vehicle license, or a heavy special license, and a total of 3 years or more (excluding the period of suspension of license) are required to obtain the license. (By completing the special training (special training for examination qualifications), you can obtain it if you are 19 years of age or older and have been receiving a ordinary vehicle license for at least one year.)
Inexperienced driver Training
For those who have a driver's license but lack confidence, we offer "Inexperienced driver training (with an instructor)" to safely practice driving a motorcycle or car. Experienced instructors will provide you with kind and careful guidance according to your skill level and situation.
